Privacy Policy

Mofu Kobo (the “Operator”) handles users' information in “Mofu Shogi” (the “Service”) as follows.

1. Operator

2. Information Collected

• Account information (account ID and display name; for accounts with a registered email address, that email address)
• If you link with Apple or Google, the information received from each company (that account's identifier, email address, name, and profile picture; if you choose Apple's “Hide My Email,” the relay address provided by Apple)
• Game records, ranks, stats, items you own in the app, friends, blocks, and reports
• Usage information (records of screen views and actions)
• The number of times, and for how long, you left the screen (tab or window) during your own turn in a game
• Connection information (IP address, date and time, and type of device and browser)

3. Purposes of Use

The Operator uses information to provide and improve the Service; to prevent, investigate, and respond to misconduct (including using shogi software or similar tools during a game); to respond to inquiries; and to send notices.

4. External Services

The Operator uses Supabase (a US company; data is stored in Japan) for data storage PostHog (a US company) for usage analytics, and Fly.io (a US company; its servers are in Japan) to run the computer player that plays in place of an opponent when none is found. Fly.io handles the moves of games and account IDs. If you turn off “Send usage data” in the app's “Settings,” you can stop data from being sent to PostHog from then on (this setting is remembered separately for each app or browser you use).

5. Provision to Third Parties

Except in cases based on laws and regulations, the Operator does not provide personal information to third parties without your consent.

6. Security Measures

The Operator manages information appropriately through measures such as encrypted communication and access restrictions.

7. Deletion and Requests for Disclosure

You can delete your account at any time from “Log Out / Delete Account” in the app. When you delete your account, your data (display name, rank, stats, items, Stargem balance, friends, and more), your email address, and your Apple or Google link are deleted and can't be restored. The following records are kept:

• Records of games and reports (kept with your name removed)
• Records of actions taken by the Operator and the notices about them
• Your account ID and login records (such as when the account was created and when you last logged in)
• Usage records (these are recorded under a number for each app or browser, so deleting your account doesn't remove them)

In addition, connection records needed to run the Service (such as dates, times, and IP addresses) may be kept for a certain period.

For requests for disclosure, correction, deletion, and the like of your information, please contact the Operator at the contact address above.

8. Age Requirement

The Service is intended for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, please use the Service with the consent of your parent or guardian.

9. Revisions

When this policy is changed, the Operator will announce it within the Service.
